The new Oasis Car Wash is under construction along Veterans Parkway. Located between Cedar River Seafood and Kyrstals, the new car was will be a new concept for Moultrie. It will feature a system where your car will be pulled through on a type of conveyor system. As your car is pulled through it is washed, waxed, etc depending on the type of wash you purchase. Price of car wash will start at $5 for a basic wash and go up to $14 for a deluxe wash. Another new feature will be FREE Vacuums. This feature alone should make the new Oasis Car Wash a big hit as currently no car wash in Moultrie offers free vacuums. The new Oasis Car Wash should be complete and ready for it's first car wash before the end of the year.
The new Downtown Intermodal Transportation facility will be a site that benefits multiple modes of transportation. It will feature about 50 parking spaces for automobiles, plus a building that will serve as a drop-off or pick-up point for bus or taxi passengers. It is currently under construction and should be complete by the end of the year.
The former home of Waffle King, located near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Tifton Hwy will soon be the home of Little G's Cafe. The new owners have made some improvements, including adding awning to the building as well as a new sign. It is assumed that Little G's Cafe will be a Huddle/Waffle House type restaurant. Opening Soon!
Another Dollar General is in the works for Moultrie. Currently about 6 Dollar Generals serves Moultrie/Colquitt County with 3 in the city of Moultrie. The new location is set to replace the Sunset Plaza location. The new Dollar General store will be constructed at the former site of Tucker Skating Rink. The local landmark will be torn down to make way for the new larger Dollar General Store.
Not start or completion date has been given as the site is still "under contract" and no official announcement has been made the the company.
Chester's Fried Chicken is opening a 2nd location in Moultrie. The newest location will be located inside the Patio gas station on South Main. The new Chester's is set to open by end of the Summer 2011.
Fred's Hometown Discount Store has announced plans for a new Moultrie Location. The new location will be constructed at the corner of South Main and 26 AVE S.E. Recently the store closed a deal on 2 acres of land with rezoning and variance requests set to go before the City Council soon. Construction on the new store is set to began by end of Summer 2011.
Taco Bell is planning a new location for Moultrie! The projected site of the new location is the corner of Doc Darbyshire Road and Veterans Parkway next to The Home Depot. The current location is for sale. No start date has been set for the new location, but rezoning of proposed land is underway with a City Council Meeting set for July 11, 2011.
